Amber McFayden
Amber, an aspiring graphic designer and film editor from Hugh Baird College Liverpool, joined the Digital Skills Project as a student who had been selectively mute for more than six years.
Taking on the role of Project Manager, she led her team in developing a digital solution to tackle addiction among young people, fully engaging with every stage of the programme.
At the Project Final in London, Amber presented her team’s work to an audience of more than 150 students, employers, and industry leaders, a remarkable achievement that highlighted her confidence, resilience, and leadership.
Her story is a powerful reminder of what young people can achieve when given the opportunity to develop their skills, discover their potential, and believe in themselves.
Amber’s team won the Best Run Project award, and personally received the 2024 Alan Livett Award.
