Jake Learner

Jake was a student from City College Plymouth, who aspired to be a software developer and robotics engineer.

Even while studying, Jake worked with specialists in the technology field and developed a strong interest in robotics. His interest in robotics and coding began when he was nine years old, and he has been fascinated by them ever since.

Jake participated in the 2026 Digital Skills Project and was named ‘Student of the Year’, with judges from leading organisations including Amazon, AWS, WPP Media, and the NHS.

Since then, he has started an Internship at Engineered Arts, a leading robotics company that designs and builds ’embodied AI social humanoids’ along with an integrated robot management software suite.

Jake returned to the project as a mentor, while also actively participating in a range of workshops and training opportunities, bringing his experience in robotics to future students.
