Professional Networking & Social Media

A key element of the Digital Skills Project is helping students understand how Social Media can support their education and future careers.

While most students are already familiar with platforms such as TikTok, Instagram and Snapchat, our workshops introduce them to LinkedIn - the world’s leading professional networking platform and an essential tool for employers, recruiters and businesses.

Students learn how to build a professional online presence, create an effective LinkedIn profile and develop their personal brand.

They also explore the opportunities and responsibilities of social media, including digital reputation, online professionalism and the potential risks of inappropriate or excessive sharing.

Throughout the programme, students are encouraged to build lasting professional networks with fellow participants, students from other colleges, industry mentors, sponsors and employers. These connections often continue well beyond the project itself.

The impact has been significant. Many of our alumni have secured degree apprenticeship interviews, work experience opportunities and job offers through the professional networks and LinkedIn profiles they developed during the programme.
