The Alan Livett Award

“A friend, a colleague and an inspiration - one of the most important role models in my life.”
Julia von Klonowski

Alan Livett

Who Was He

Alan was Julia’s friend and colleague. Kind, considerate and a true gentleman, Alan generated calm and found solutions in difficult situations. He spoke with knowledge and consideration, always listening to others’ views. A beloved, respected teacher and Deputy Headmaster, he demonstrated refined leadership.

His Final Years

After being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Alan maintained his dignity and lived each day to the fullest – seeing his daughter get married, holding his first grandchild, and dancing in his wheelchair at his own 60th birthday party until the last guest had gone home. He squeezed every drop from every moment, showing what life is really all about.
